Washington D.C. is buzzing with discussions about pending energy and climate change legislation. Congress is expected to deliver a comprehensive bill to the President soon, perhaps by year’s end. If the final bill looks anything like current proposals, everyone will be affected, regardless of industry or company size.

President Barack Obama has proposed new environmental regulations designed to reduce carbon emissions. His plan includes a Cap & Trade strategy similar to the European Union’s Emissions Trading System. The administration expects this approach to generate hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue for the federal government.
